Privacy policy

Effective September 11, 2026.

This is the personal website of Andrew B. Harris, MD. This policy explains what information the site collects, how it is used, and the choices you have.

What the site collects

• What you send through the contact form: your name, email address, phone number if you give one, how you would like to be contacted, how you heard about Dr. Harris, and your message.
• Basic technical information: like most websites, the servers that deliver these pages receive your IP address and browser details. The site is hosted by GitHub Pages. Fonts are served by Google Fonts, the office maps by Stadia Maps and OpenStreetMap, and the embedded arthritis guides load code from unpkg.com. Each of these services receives the technical details needed to deliver its content, under its own privacy policy.

The site does not use cookies, analytics, advertising trackers, or tracking pixels.

How it is used and shared

• Form messages are used only to reply to you and, if you ask, to arrange an appointment.
• Messages are delivered by Formspree, a form-processing service, to Dr. Harris’s email. If you ask to be scheduled, your contact details are shared with the scheduling staff at the office where you will be seen.
• Your information is never sold, rented, or used for advertising.
• Messages are kept only as long as needed to respond to you and for ordinary record-keeping.

Health information

The contact form is not a secure medical channel. Please do not send medical records, images, or details about your health through it. If you become a patient, the practice where you are seen will give you its own Notice of Privacy Practices, which governs your medical information. This policy is not that notice.

Your choices

• To ask for a message you sent to be deleted or corrected, use the contact form and choose email as your preferred reply.
• Because the site does not track visitors over time or across other websites, it does not change its behavior in response to “Do Not Track” browser signals.
• The site is not directed to children under 13 and does not knowingly collect their information.
• This policy applies to visitors wherever they live, including California residents.

Changes

If this policy changes, the effective date above will be updated.

Medical disclaimer and terms of use

General information, not medical advice. This website is for general education. It is not medical advice for any particular person and is not a substitute for an evaluation by your own doctor, who knows your history, your examination, and your imaging. Do not delay seeking care, or change a treatment your doctor has recommended, because of something you read here.

No doctor–patient relationship. Reading this site or sending a message through it does not by itself create a doctor–patient relationship. Messages are answered about scheduling and general questions only.

Emergencies. If you think you are having a medical emergency, call 911 or go to the nearest emergency department.

Accuracy. Pages are written and reviewed by Dr. Harris and cite published research where possible. Medicine changes, and individual results vary. The site may not reflect the most recent evidence on every topic.

Links to other websites. Links to other sites and publications are provided for convenience and do not mean those sites are endorsed.

Trademarks. Mako is a trademark of Stryker; ROSA of Zimmer Biomet; CORI of Smith+Nephew; and VELYS of DePuy Synthes. These and any other product names mentioned belong to their owners. They are named only to identify the systems described, and their mention does not imply endorsement by, or affiliation with, those companies.

Industry payments. Payments from device and drug makers to physicians, including meals, are reported publicly through CMS Open Payments.

Personal website. This is Dr. Harris’s personal website. The views here are his own.

Use of content. Text and images on this site are © Andrew B. Harris, MD unless otherwise noted, and may not be reproduced without permission. You use this site at your own risk.

Accessibility statement

This site aims to be usable by everyone, including people who use screen readers, keyboard navigation, or magnification. The goal is to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, level AA.

What has been done

• Pages use standard headings and structure, and images carry text descriptions.
• Menus can be opened and closed from the keyboard, and focused links are clearly outlined.
• Text and background colors are chosen for readable contrast.

Known limitations

• The downloadable PDF guides and the embedded arthritis guides may not be fully accessible to screen readers.
• Publications link to journal websites, which are outside this site’s control.
